Did you have any problems because one or both of your parents did not want to let you leave home and/or let you have a relationship or get married, if so how did you deal with your parent/s ? what did you do so that you could have the life you wanted ?

My mom had a problem with me getting married to my husband. She still have some issues with him. But we get along okay. She would have preferred I married someone else. However I just followed my heart and got married to him. My mother is not married to my husband, I am married to to him. She doesn't live with me and my husband. She needs to accept my choice.
My mom is slowly getting over it. I talk about the positive things regarding my husband and occasionally minor issues. But if she starts getting opinionated, argumentative and starts in on giving me advice about my husband, I will tell her that she doesn't need to get into it and the subject will be changed.

Just tell them that you are all grown up now and you want them to give you the chance to show them how grown up you actually are. and they will respect you for saying that you want to make your start in life . good luck hun. x

my father didn't like my husband at all & god only knows why & my husband did nothing to the man whatsoever. my mom loved my husband like he was her own son. to this day my husband's stepmother doesn't like me because i won't let her walk all over me.
