does the belief that animals have no souls justify the cruel treatment humans give them?

i heard people in australia are taking the barbs out of stingrays because of what happened to steve irwin, why do people have to abuse animals?

It never ceases to amaze me that there are homeless HUMAN BEINGS everywhere in this world, yet people give so much of a good jolly damn about animals. They will be just fine without our help. Left to their own devices, they can evolve to new environments and balance themeslves out without our help. The stingray barb removal is a bit much, but why do other humans have to abuse other humans? People should come first.

Humans were made stewards over God's creation, and thus are charged with protecting animals.

I'm not happy about Steve Irwin's death (although he isn't an atheist any more), but the easiest way to avoid a stingray barb is to leave the animals alone - stay away from them, and they won't hurt you.

When God created Adam he said once he gave the breath of life that the man "became a living soul" NOT that he was given a soul, so soul is basically a living person or thing.
We are all souls and no we have NO right to abuse Gods creation.
He says "he will ruin those ruining the earth" so these people that treat his creation this way will have to face him one day.

and as far as what happened to Steve Erwin that is a terrible tragedy but it is not the first time this has happened to someone, were they that extreme the last time this happened, no. And unfortunately they are asking for the same accident to happen to them.
Some how I don't think Steve would agree with this action ether he was a conservationist.

animals actually are more advanced then we are in the soul department ,they go straight up and while they are here they give unconditional love ,we are suppose to be the intelligent ones here on this planet but well it is obvious we are not .
those who abuse animals are really quite souless .how easy is it to hurt ,maime, something that is totally at your mercy [just like small children] that is the true meaning of darkness and souless .
but i believe what comes around goes around and well they may think they can do what they want but it will come back to bite them in the a--.....i would simply like to see it :}:}:

Animals should be treated like children. If you have one you should take care of it and get it medical treatment when necessary and keep it up to date on it's shots. People treat their pets like expendable objects instead of beloved members of the family. If they treated their children the way they treat their pets, they would not have them long.
