If so, on a scale from 1 to 10, how much does pain is involved, including the injection?

The first injection of Novocaine (or whatever they use) sucks, but that pain is only momentary. Once that first blast kicks in you usually don't feel anymore shots should they become necessary to get you properly numbed. Both times I had wisdom teeth pulled I felt more of a sense of pressure than pain. The most discomfort comes during recovery, but they give you pain killers for that.

I had a tooth pulled a few months ago, the injection was the worst part, and even that wasn't bad, just the same as the numbing injection you get before a cavity filling. The tooth extraction part took like 10 secs, I didn't even know he did it. Piece of cake!!! As long as you take your pain meds as the doc orders, the pain afterwards was very manageable. Good Luck!

I had a wisdom tooth pulled about 6 weeks ago.
Pain scale including the injection - about 3
It was no big deal at all. I didn't feel a thing but it as sore that evening. Nothing that a few Tylenol couldn't help.

I've had 4 pulled. The injection was the worst part, I would give it about a 3, the extraction a 1. However, I think it depends on your tolerance for pain.

I've had 11 pulled out. 4 with a spray, 4 with an injection which was the worst and 3 wisdom teeth by operation. That hurt after I woke up. And yes, I still have a mouth full of teeth left.

I'd have to say about a 7 if 10 in the most painful. The injection was the worst part for me. I also had gas which was great. I didn't feel the tooth coming out just a lot of pressure.

Honestly I am the biggest wuss you'll ever meet on pain but the injection of the needle is alot better than the dentist actually extracting it. Cause when they do that you can feel the roots tearing and it makes you weezy. But over all I would rate it as a 7. Good luck!

1, I have a dentist who is very good about using pain relief because he knows that people won't come back if pain is involved. He rubs some epinephrine gel(or something) on the injection site before giving the shot. After a few minutes he injects novacaine and then it's completely numb. He won't work on me though if I don't take the xanax he prescribes before the procedure. He says it makes me a much easier patient. Tell your dentist if you feel any pain. They want to know so they can adjust your meds.

I just had one of my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Because I have sleep apnea, they didn't put me under and used a local. I was awake the entire time. In my case, the only thing you feel is the initial pricks of the needle into your mouth. Nothing after that. You feel pressure, but no pain, then it's over before you know it and on your way. They give you pretty strong painkillers to combat the post-op pain (Oxycodone in my case), so nothing to worry about there. Probably give it about a two on the needle pinch, but after that, like I said, nothing.

I would say maybe 3? The initial stick of the needle is kind of uncomfortable, but after that, you're home free. LOL

The pain afterwards, for me, was easily treatable with tylenol. I had a molar extracted.
