I am a future step mom (9 weeks to go until the wedding!!), but I have been with my fiance since before his son was born. I was there for the first custody battle, and I put all my efforts into helping my fiance. We had to fight tooth and nail for visitation because my stepson's mom is ... well, she's selfish. I feel like I am just as good a mother as she is, even if I don't see Johnny that much.

He calls me 'mommy' (although he knows that Laura is his mother), and I love him so much sometimes I think my heart will break.

What I do when I'm really, really missing him is to go do things in his room, like straighten it up, put clothes away, organize the animals, etc etc. It doesn't make me feel less lonely, but I feel closer to him and I feel a lot better.

Good luck to you!

I am in the same boat as you. When "my" little one has to go to her Mom's I usually relax and do all the things I can't do when she's around. I miss her, but I really enjoy the 'me' time. I usually take all the darn toys out of the bathtub and light some candles and take a bubble bath. ...with a glass, or two of wine :-)

Take the opportunity to make some "you" time. Go be a woman, not a mom! Get your hair done, where something that makes you feel good and go shopping, or something that you enjoy!

Have fun!
