I plan to bake cookies in advance and store inside jars. About how many days can I store cookies? Anybody with a good recipe? If you have, please give me also. Thanks to all

I bake tons and tons of cookies at Christmas time. I start right after Thanksgiving. I put them in airtight containers and store them in the freezer. They still taste fresh even a month later. If you store them in the right containers in the freezer they should last a good 6 months.

For recipes go to Allrecipes.com It has everything and the best part is cooks like you and me review the recipes and tell you what works and what doesn't.

Happy Baking!

I bake a lot of cookies, and if I need to store them, I put them in freezer containers, and freeze them. Oatmeal cookies freeze very well up to about 3 months (although they never last that long around here). If you don't need that long, refridgeration works well for a few weeks. They keep really well for a couple weeks in an airtight container such as Tupperware on the counter as well. I usually use the recipe on the inside cover of the round oatmeal box and add a few things to the recipe such as almond extract, chopped cranberries, dates, cashews, pecans, semi-sweet choco-chips or walnuts. Yummy! They never last very long around our house!

Sorry, I'm without my recipe books. :(

The cookies will probably start to lose something after 3 days. (freshness, chewiness) But you could still eat them up to a couple of weeks, particularly if it's airtight.

If you don't have a discerning palate, you can store them over a month.

I bake approx. 130 bags of cookies every christmas and deliver to the elderly... the cookie are fine for a few weeks at room temp... freeze them and you have months added on to that !

While your'e baking I am sure you can think of a little old guy or lady who would benefit from a plate of cookies and a smile ! Go knock on their door !

Happy Baking!

As long as your tastebuds can handle it... usually after 3-4 days they start to go stale.

These have been my father's favourite since I was a little girl:

½ cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
½ tsp vanilla
½ tsp baking soda
½ cup raisins
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup flour

Mix altogether. (DO NOT over mix, will become too dense.)

Drop by tsp onto cookie sheet.
Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.

no recipe, but once you bake them, should you have extras, cookies freeze very well. wrap in wax paper then place in a freezer bag.
