My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Next to the arm pits? Do you mean in back of the arms? If so, then what you may want to do is lift your right arm straight overhead with whatever weight amount feels comfortable; with the left hand cupped, securing the elbow of the extended right arm (to keep it from moving back and forth) and bend the right arm and extend it again t work the triceps. Do sets of 12 with each arm. (Or, if you have use of a Universal Gym... or Bow Flex, that exercise is easily done with both arms at the same time).

Weights are the fastest way to burn fat and calories but you REALLY need to cut down on sugars and fats and "bad" calories. I would recommend that you speak with a nutritionist and ask for help in burning fat and having energy to work out with weights. A certified and licensed nutritionist would be able t give you far better advice than a doctor, a nurse or even a regular weight trainer (that's a specialty in and of itself that I respect).

Good luck and very best wishes.

If you already weight train to tone your arms that's great. Make sure you vary your workout exercises every couple of weeks to prevent your body from adjusting to your workout and capping your results. Either change the exercises, e.g. do standing curls for three weeks, seated curls for three weeks, and butterfly curls for three weeks, change the grip, change the weight and reps, or some combination of the three.

You may need to shift your focus slightly to your shoulders and chest try adding Lateral Raises and/or Front Lateral Raises, Standing Twisting Shoulder Press and/or Standing Shoulder Press, and Dumbbell Pec Flies.

Exercises that incorporate the most joint movement tend to work the connective tissue and muscle better. In particular, the Standing Twisting Shoulder Press is a very good exercise.

For starters try adding this to your workout:

Using dumbbells.

For each exercise do three sets of 15 reps each, using the maximum weight that allows you to complete each set with perfect form.

Front Lateral Raises
Standing Twisting Shoulder Press
Dumbbell Pec Flies

Again, make sure you vary the exercises in some way after three weeks.

You should start to look for results after 6 weeks.

If you have lost a lot of weight then it means the actual skin has stretched so you may just have to accept a bit of sagginess there i'm afraid. Other than that any exercises that do your arms and chest/shoulders at the same time will be useful and also try using a body brush to stimulate circulation

I strongly recommend you try a body pump class if there is one near you. It incorporate a wide range of excercises to get the most out of your weights. I have been going for 8 weeks and my whole body (especially the parts of the arms you are taking about) have toned up no end

Try standing chest flyes. Stand with legs wide and lunge slightly to the left while reaching your right hand (while holding a weight) to your left side and than lunge slightly right while extending your right arm out and overhead keeping the arm straight. Repeat 8-12 reps and switch sides. Hope that helps.

Stretch your arms out to each side(making your body into a cross shape) and move them around in a circular motion, the smaller the circle made then the harder it gets, which tones that section also.

You cannot get rid of fat in a certain part of your body by exercising it. You'll have to just lose weight, and that will probably make the fat in your arms go away.
