Have you tried giving him a 'dry' bath using cornmeal and baking soda mixed?
brush him then rub the mixture into his dry hair

. Brush out and he should smell better!!!!

Another thing I've tried is baby wipes. Just wipe him all over! Use the scented ones instead of fragrance free. Hope this helps you!!!

You are just going to have to break down and give him a bath and since it is getting cold you can do it in the bath tub. Wouldn't it be better to smell wet dog for a little bit rather then smell the stinch that is on your dog all the time. If he smells that bed you may have to wash him a couple of times depending on if he is short or long haired. Dry him with a towel when you are done and that will help him dry faster so you don't have to smell the wet hair as long. You will also want to let him dry in the house also cause if you let him back out after a bath he will find something to roll on and will stick all over again. Just give him a bath - you will enjoy you dog more if you do.

If your dog live inside with you, then you should always keep him clean. If you don't want to give him a bath, then take him to a place where they bathe dogs. That way you won't have to smell the wetness of the dog. In the summer time I usually give my dog a bath at least once a month. Take your dog to a doggie wash. Your dog will be happy & you will too because you won't have to be worried about bugs and flees in your house.

Take him to a groomer for a nice warm bath with warm air to be dried under. They should also clean his ears, clip/file his nails, trim his paws, and express his anal glands (if needed) all in the bath price, just ask whats included first so you don't get changed an excessive amount for those little extras. Just to note certain breeds, such as beagles and shih tzus have a smell that's uniquely theirs and it might go away for a day or so after the bath but then come right back.

Dogs, like all animals need to be bathed every so often. If you don't care for the smell when he is wet, I agree with the others when they say to take him to a groomer or to PetSmart and let them bathe him. If you can't stand it anymore, think of how your poor baby feels. They do get itchy when they're dirty.

If your dog smells bad, and you won't bath him because you don't like the smell of a wet dog, why on earth do you have a dog?
Looking after his coat is part of looking after your dog.

Take the poor dog to a groomer if you won't do it yourself. Otherwise, give him a bath and gently train him to be dried with a blow dryer after being toweled off!

unlike a cat u have to give your dog a bath once in awhile. They have special shampoos, do it in the bathtub not outside with a hose, towel dry & maybe try a blowdryer on LOW, COOL setting. Or pay the $$ a get someone to do it for u. It's worth the money to have a clean stink-free dog!!

Wash him in the bath, and rinse him down with warm water, then dry him off with a hairdryer, as simple as that, hundreds of people do it.

Don't make excuses about the wet smell, I can't stand smells myself, but you wouldn't want to walk around smelling like your dog - Would you?

Use dog shampoo though, wont you.

I use walmart brand lavender baby bath. It kills the wet dog smell. In between baths I sprinkle with baby powder and brush.

I use regular Johnsons baby shampoo on my dog in between trips to the groomer. I turn the shower on. Works great and he smells good after wards.
