Dunno. Each country is Unique. Spain did this. Spain granted all illegal immigrants at the time legal status. This increased their taxes. But now spain has tough immigration laws. If an illegal immigrant entered spain, there is no way they could ever be made legal. Briatin on the other hand has the weakest immigration. If they gave amnesty, but tighten there immigration it might work.

No as this sends the wrong message. Others would assume, in the future, that when things got too bad another amnesty would be granted. Economic migrants as I prefer to call them come here because they wish a better life for themselves and their families. I've actually thought of a novel idea that may help the problem.
At present they can live in this country for years before they are detected and when they are they can be held in Immigration Centres, again for years while their case goes through the Appeal process. Instead of this costly procedure why not support them to go on skills courses or even University to give them a means of not only supporting themselves in their home country but to enrich that country. People come here out of hope, they should be helped, they should be given hope and then they can return to their own countries knowing they have something to contribute.
This would probably be cheaper than the system that is in place now and we would be exporting not deporting people who could be nurses, social workers, environmentalists, in fact everything you can think a developing country needs.

No
its been done before in the UK (mid seventies I believe), all it did was legitmise the status of people here illegally, it held out the prospect since then that another amnesty will be granted so encourage further illegal immigrants to stay.

it doesn't achieve anything, it rewards illegal and illict behaviour

it makes a mockery of the immigration process (well what hasn't already been made a mockery by the current governments policies and incompetance that is)

Sure. How about we grant them citizenship after they commit their second felony. Then maybe we could grant them the right to cut in line at the store. How about creating a cash incentive program for illegals who drive through "stop signs" and "red lights", it could be like a little bonus. They wouldn't even have to do anything, no waiting, no messy paperwork, we would just give it to them. Better yet, we could grant them complete amnesty from all our laws. Illegals could do what ever they wanted; murder, steal, rape, burn US flags, etc, that way they wouldn't really be breaking our laws.

What else could we do to make things better for illegals? What are they doing to solve any of the problems, that they cause? Nothing. If we are going to grant them anything, it should be 6 months, a year tops, to leave the country on their own. Go back and we will consider letting you come back legally.

Hell no. Send them all back. This country is in a state. They shouldnt be allowed into this country. They come over here and take our jobs and council houses, use our NHS (when they dont pay taxes and national insurance contributions) and when we have to start paying for NHS treatment, whos fault will it be? And they expect to be treated like Britains? We will be an ethnic minority in our own country soon. Our immigration system is a load of pants, infact is it even a system? People should not be allowed to enter the UK unless they have a job to go to. We should have tougher immigration laws like Austrailia. The situation is only going to get worse when other eastern european countries join the EU. The UK should give Brussels and the EU a great big "F*** OFF" and be a country in our own right again, instead of being governed by a bunch of controlling twats in Brussels. As Maggie Thatcher once said "Up yours Delors!"

Grant illegal's amnesty? Sure! But why stop there? Let's just open our borders and welcome all their criminals.
There are millions of illegals not paying their fair share of taxes. Filling up hospital emergency rooms (even caused the closing of some hospitals here in L.A.), getting free medical help. Something I can't afford, but can't get for free. You can take the people out of poverty, but you can't take the poverty out of the people. They bring it with them and have turned a once magnificent city into a giant ghetto.

Why do they think they're special? They need to become legal American's just like any other immigrant.

No, there is not any way. And returned NO! via fact amnesty devalues the nicely worth of yank Citizenship. Democrats do sufficient of that. With their an increasing kind of open efforts to alter the notice citizen into the notice concern. Deport them and penitentiary their employers. as quickly as the attempt starts off, self deportation will additionally start up. As jobs dry up and warranted everlasting deportations commence. worked nicely till Ed Kennedy's Immigration reform invoice handed asserting we will not deport 12 tens of millions in hassle-free terms surrenders our borders and lifestyle to foreigners. Who care not something for the u . s ..

Amnesty is the same as inviting millions more illegals to come here. Amnesty has been tried before, and that is what happened.

All illegal immigrants should be sent straight back and their governments should be billed for the inconvenience. But it just doesn't work like that cos our government is a heap of sh*te! Instead we have to foot the cost of having to find them, feed them, pay the legal costs to try to get rid of them, and then the housing bill when they eventually get to stay and get granted a house, the benefits they get (which they don't bl**dy work for). It makes me sick and i could rant all day about foreigners coming over here, sponging off us
