Canadians are not eligible for the RYDER cup. It is a match between the US & Europe. Golfer's not a citizen of either of those areas are regulated to the President's cup (US vs World except Europe)) played in off years. Mike Wier a Canadian has been on the Pesident's cup International team. If Canadians were eligible for the Ryder cup Stephrn Ames may be close but it is more likely that no Canadian would qualify for the current team. For next summer's president cup Stephen Ames is currently ranked 14th and Mike Wier 16th. The top ten are automatic selections. Both have a excellent chance to be Captain's picks in 2007 since the event is in Canada.

Because you don't play golf on ice. JK, everyone else has it correct. Until Canada is annexed by the US or becomes part of Europe they aren't eligible to play in the Ryder Cup.

I thought Ryder Cup was strictly for US vs European players. I know they used to have another cup that was US vs International players like Greg Norman from Australia.
