You can try few things. One- you can get electric wire to put around fence and they will learn their boundary quick. Another you can tie them up in the yard for a while after every time they get out and they will eventually learn that they are to stay in the fence. I have also been told that a paint gun works also. It won't hurt them, it just stings and lets them know if they jump out it's gonna sting. Dogs relate to things that have to do with pain of any sort. I have never tried the paint gun option but I've heard it works.

this worked for me. Please don't think it is cruel. I live in an area that has many horses, and when my mid-sized dog started jumping my fence, my sister came over with an electric fence transformer and wiring and the plastic doohickeys to attach it to the fence. We installed the wire and the transformer and plugged it in. the next time my dog went to jump the fence, she brushed the wire and got a small shock. She came yipping to me and insisted I follow her so she could show me where the fence bit her. But she has never done it again. I don't even plug in the fence any more.

We have since found that pet stores carry an electric fence dog version, which is easier to set up than the horse version (no need to ground it). Just remember to put up signs about the live wire if there is any chance a human might touch it.

Believe it or not I had the same problem. If your fence is a wooden privacy type fence then simply cut a 2 ft piece of plywood and nail it to the top of the fence making it 8 feet. I did that and since then the dogs haven't gotten out again. Good luck! If it's a chain lint fence then you'll have to consider making the fence at least 8 feet. Make sure they don't have anything near the fence they can use to climb on also.

First off call the Guiness book of world records if your dogs arejumping this as it will break the current high jump record for dogs.
Since your dogs are most likely climbing the fence the easiest and cheapest way to fix it is run a string of hot wire around the top of the fence. They make small plactice holders to hold the wire and you sink a ground rod and hook the wire to the charger and the charge to the ground rod and you are good to go.
They make a plactis tape that is bout 1-2" wide and it has metal running insode of it and you can use that so the dogs can see it.
one shock and they will not try it again.

My suggestion would be to buy the attachments that go on top of the fence at an angle. (you probably would have seen them around. They angle towards the inside of the fence. They add a little height, but cause a depth problem for the dogs. They get confused and cannot tell how to jump to get over. Good Luck!

Modifications to the fence are the "quick fix", but the ultimate answer is to train the dog to STAY IN THE YARD. Most people try to train a dog NOT TO JUMP THE FENCE, and that simply doesn't work. Dogs have no preception of "not". Always train a dog "to do something" instead of trying to train a dog "not to do something"

You need to lay an invisible fence inside your fence line.

My neighbors have a picture of one of my fosters doing this.

I want you to get the grill fired up, then you need to chop up both of your dogs, but make sure you skin them first because you don't want all that hair in your food. After that you need to let them soak in BBQ sauce and then fry them, once you have completed this, invite the unsuspecting neighbors over for a nice hardy meal.
