4.5 billion years from now when the sun expands to the red giant phase and scorches the surface of the earth. We don't know if this will physically break the planet apart or just burn it to heck, but destruction is destruction either way.

I truly have no clue. I think the world as we know it will change over to something new but so will the people. We are always evolving. Maybe those predictions meant something like that and not death to all living things? I would focus on the positive good things in life and let this unanswerable question go.

Depends on who you ask. Paul thought it would be over in his lifetime. And ever since then we get "predictions" corresponding to the latest fad. 333 years after Christ, 666 years after Christ, the first millennium, the second millennium, 06/06/06 and sundry other days in between. Anyway, pick a card, any card.

Me? I'm betting on a big asteroid because we don't make plans to avoid really possible disasters.

The earth will not end but be renewed by God. Only after Jesus comes back for those who have received Him as their savior (Thus the term "saved"). He is coming back to take us from this earth before a 7 year period called the tribulation. In this 7 years "all hell will break loose." All those who did not believe in Jesus will get another chance to receive Him before they die but they will go through the tribulation and may have to die for their belief in Jesus. After 7 years Satan and all his workers of iniquity and those who didn't accept Jesus will be judged according to their deeds. (If you had to be judged by every sin you've committed (lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, adultery, evil intentions, hate, jealousy, envy and so on) what do you think God should say to you. It doesn't matter how good you think you are. When you accept Jesus all your sins are erased and you have a clean slate. Your love and admiration for his sacrifice of dying on the cross causes you to hate sin and not want to sin anymore. The Holy Spirit comes to help you on your path to eternal life.) Then as God judges the unbelievers they will be sent into the eternal lake of fire. Those who are true beleivers in Christ will go to New Jerusalem in Heaven which will eventually rest on the new Earth. Jesus said that no man knows the day or the hour. We are to look for the signs (Read in the BIBLE). This question I have for unbelievers. Are you willing to take the chance of eternal hell? What do you have to loose but your life? We have been given the most precious gift. A sacrafice for our sin. JESUS DIED FOR YOU! How hard is it to ask for His forgiveness and receive His grace. It is a beautiful, joyful life in Christ. Try Him today!

Baptist here
NO ONE KNOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People who are wondering when the world is going to explode, catch on fire, disappear, fade into oblivion, drown, freeze, etc.. etc... are wasting precious moments of life. No one knows, seriously. The world has been around for many many many many many many years and people every since then has worried about this. Live life to the fullest while you can. We are only here for a short number of years. Instead of worrying when all of this will happen, worry about how we are going to raise our children, feed ourselves, prosper and the like. My pastor has always said that only God know when and it is not our job to question. Let things flow! Good Luck to you
