What is your question exactly?

Oracle is the database engine. (http://www.oracle.com/index.html) Its main competitors are IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase and MySQL (free!).

SQL is the query language. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sql) It's used to find and modify data stored in Oracle.
