I'm planning to buy a new car. I like a lot the convertible PT crusier. But I have heard many good and bad things....any idea? I have heard that Chrysler is not a good option (they lost value very quick), however this car is a product of the fusion of Mercedez Benz and Chrysler. I'd appreciate your help!!!!

Mercedez Benz owns Chrysler so if you think MB makes a good car there's your answer.

My mom bought a new 2002 PT Touring, she's NEVER had a problem with it.

I own a '99 Chrysler Sebring convertible JXi - it is the worst car I have ever owned. If I can go 3 months without the ignition going out, having to replace an upper control arm or a bearing, etc., I consider myself lucky. I maintain my cars very well (oil changes, tune ups, trans service, etc) so I see no excuse for this. I have owned many Fords & a few GMs that have been wonderful, reliable cars. I will never buy a Chrysler product again personally.

That said, I also love the looks of the PT Cruiser convertible. I have read that Chrysler has been getting high marks in quality improvement for the last year or two. I would say you make the call. I am looking to buy a Pontiac G6 convertible next spring myself - I test drove one a few weeks ago, and can only say "Nice!". Volkswagen is also coming out with a new model convertible, the Eos - but it is pricier.

It's a Dodge Neon with a different body. This car is not a "fusion" of anything. It's an overpriced and over produced piece of trash. You would be better off buying something Japanese. The new Mazdas look like a better product.

I had one and I loved it. Worst thing I ever did was get rid of it. Never had a problem at all with it, it was perfect. I moved way out in the country and the road is real rough so I traded it for a truck because I could't bear the idea of tearing it up on the dirt road. I really miss it, and regret EVERY DAY not having my Cruiser.
