My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

The secret to flat instead of muscler is do more slow excercise. If you do fast crunches you will end up with short bulky muscles. i would suggest you learn about polaties...the idea is to do slow difficult stretches and hold them. This allows for longer, thinner muscle, the type most women would die for. As far as eating. I am a 115 pound women that eats more unhealthy then my 300 pound mother. But I would suggest for now try to eat smal amounts of food every couple hours. Never more then a handful and make the time between these healthy snacks longer and longer.

Stomach crunches are always good, even though they're tough to begin with. Work up the number that you do slowly; 10 the first day, 15 the next day, and so on.

Lots and lots of crunches... Low fat diet about 1200 calories a day. Make sure to drink lots of water to flush your system. Try to cut out caffeine and anything sugary.
eat lots of fiber to help with the bloating.

Pilates is good as it strenthens the core muscles and thus pulls the tummy in. Combine this with cardio work and lots of veg and wholegrain and you should be well on your way

avoid sodas, chewing gum and flour. Do a lot of abs and run or jog to get rid of the fat you have been accumulating all over the years
