The best place to see celebs is some of the exlusive clubs, some which might not let you in. Like butter and bed.
If your hot, naturally, your more likely to get in.
Having lived here all my life, I think i have spotted all of two, yes two, celebs randomly on the street. There are so many people and not that many celebs, so your unlikey to just run into them. They dont go to FAO schwartz enough to warrent a serious shot there, that store used to be fun for both tourists and natives alike, but now, is a shell of its former self, more like an overpriced toy warehouse then what you saw in the movie BIG.
Yes, they shop, sometimes about bloomingdales. but again, you would have to be in the right spot at the right time, *if* they are shopping, its not too common. There is also nowhere to sit outside of bloomingdales.

Not for celebs exactly, although there are plenty of models, if the weather is warm you cant get better people watching than on union square, there are a few restuarants on the west side of the square from cheap to expensive that have outside seating.
The best and most expensive of the lot is Blue Water Grill. But right next to it are several other less expensive places.
A highly recommend walk for people watching (although a lot of tourists) and shopping, start at 42nd street and 5th avenue and walk uptown until you get to central park. Tons of posh shops, st pats catherdral....

New Yorks see celebs and dont stop and stare, we treat them like others. Yuo never know where you might see then and youmay not recognise them.
