Wash your hands with soap as usual, then wash them again under running water with a stainless steel utensil instead of soap. It works better than anything else I've ever tried. I use a spoon or a butter knife.
Remember, it has to be stainless steel. Other metals don't work.

Has anyone else ever tried this?

i havn't actually tried this, but i've heard from many different cooking shows that if you even just touch something stainless (they rubbed their faucet) that the smell would go away, but i would think that you need soap, or something to get the smell off, so i think washing with soap and a stainless steel utensil would work.

Lemon juice is a organic antibiotic and an scent remover. each and every time I chop garlic, I at present pour about a 1/2 of a teaspoon of lemon juice in my palm and wring my palms till the juice turns into kinda tacky, then wash with cleansing soap and warm water.

Stainless steel works, rubbing your hand on the stainless sink works as well.

Yes and it works great. The best part is you don't have to buy anything special, anything stainless steel will work.

It sounds like a good idea, and well worth the try. Does it work for gasoline that you get on your hands from filling the car? I use lemon juice for this, but don't always have it on hand (so to speak.)

I've heard vanilla extract, but never tried it, because, frankly, what a waste. but I can use a spoon, and definitely will try it next time.
