Why most of you pissed off when I tried to ask our Muslim Brothers and Sisters on how they convince us in order to lessen our prejudiced towards Islam? Is it time for us to be more open minded and accept other views?Remember Jesus said that we have to love one another, right?so what's the fuss?Asking about Islam doesn't mean I'm going to convert into it,all I want is their views and their explanations to be able to understand more of it.Peace!

I wish more people had an interest in learning about Islam. It is a religion that I think has great potential for the people who follow it.....who really follow it (not radicals).

I wish people would also learn about my religion-Judaism. I get so tired of people asking why we do not believe in G-d. Where do you think the Christian and Islam religions come from!!? We base our whole religion on G-d, history, and the people of Israel in relationship with G-d. Just because we do not believe in Jesus as the messiah and as G-d (as Christians do), does not mean we do not believe in G-d.

Muslim friends say they get the same question I do. Allah is the Arabic word for G-d. If you read the Bible in Arabic (there are Arab Christians), the word for G-d is Allah in their Bible. When people on here make snide remarks about Allah-they are saying these bad things about G-d.

People need to learn about each other.

I'm not upset 'bout asking such a thing. I've done my own studies on Islam, and have read the Koran... and would like to see how they justify themselves as being peacable Muslims (I do not mean that in an offensive way, but rather, in an apologetically way... that is, if a true Muslim believes 100% of the Koran is true, and obeys 100% of the commands given to them, how is it they can be peaceful, inspite of what the Koran tells them to do) since all that I have learned from reading the Koran is (extremely summed up in a one-liner) "Muslims are the best, everyone else sucks and should convert or die, and I don't know what I think about Christians, other than they believe such-and-such is true (which it really isn't)".

I can tolerate other views, I can learn about other views, and I can respect other views. Accepting them, however, pushes the boundaries a bit too close for comfort.

God bless you, and again for being a peacemaker.

Oh, and to Chani... "Allah" is not the Arabic word for "God". "Ilah" is ("There is no Ilah but Allah" "La Ilaha ha Ila Allah"). "Allah" is a proper name... akin to the Tetragrammation. Regrettably, Arabic Bibles have (intentionally, or unintentionally), used the proper name of the Muslim god for the Judeo-Christian title "God".

the more one learns about different Belief Systems the better off we are. the road towards Peace and Understanding will be through the respect of a differing Belief System while that Belief System in turn respects the other. we are all traveling on the Path and no matter what our Belief System the main object is to arrive at our destination.

You need to understand what is written in the Koran, the Holy Book of Islam. We are indeed suppposed to love our br & sr, but the Koran states to kill Christians and Jews. This is not a loving, peaceful religion, regardless of all the whitewash that is being done these days. If you don't believe me, read it. I am not "open minded" or "politically correct" when it comes to people who tout hatred and killing.. Sorry.

I didn't see any Christians using bad language or shouting at you in your previous question. I saw some Muslims copying the entire Quaran in there. And only a couple of Christians that were concerned about you not becoming a misguided heretic.

if it were also extended to paganism and other religions i would seriously rejoice but a lot of christians are just sheep following a shepard. even if the shepard is a biggot, or prejudiced against all religions, exodus chapter 18 verse 22 says "thou shall not suffer a witch to live" then shouldnt all christians be out killing witches like they did in the burning years? im sorry but a god that creates sin, creates you to have sin when already born(original sin from adam and eve) creates in your body the total desire to sin, then waits for you to die so he can punish you for your sin is NOT UNCONDITIONALLY LOVING that is pure sadistic!

Good for you! I also am a Christian who is interested in learning about other religions, and like you, I don't wish to convert, but only to understand different viewpoints. Keep learning and growing!

more power to ya.

if we don't educate ourselves .. then history repeats itself.

just because I want to know about slavery doesn't mean I'm interested in having one.

education is the key.. and I'd be interested in knowing the views of Islamic ppl..

I strongly recommend you convert to Islam. From what you have written, it seems you are not happy with Jesus. I think Islam will do better things for you in life. So go to your nearest mosk and do the switch!
