When Catholics pray, they begin by saying, " Hail Mary, Mother of God, pray for our sins". When God created the world, Mary wasn't even born. .Doesn't Gods law state that you should not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above is in the earth. Thou shalt not bow thyself down to them. Yet there are statues of Mary almost everywhere you look. ( 1 Timothy 2:5) For there is only one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. No where can I find that you have to pray to Mary. If Mary is a mediator, why Christ?

Mary is not the mother of God, but a created being like all other humans on earth. When a person recognizes God and subjects to Him, God uses the person for His glory. Same is the case with Mary. When God wanted to sent His only Son to redeem mankind, He chose Mary and Mary subjected herself to the will of God.

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." (Luke 1:38)

The doctrine of Mary being the "mother of God" only existed after the Council of Ephesus (431 AD). Doctrines making her equal to God and / or Christ in the capacity of a mediator or savior followed later.

As you have mentioned, the practice of Mary "worship" (Catholics refer to this merely as reverence to her) is already very questionable at best, idolatry at worst, because of its direct contradiction of the Word of God (such as John 14: 6 and, as you have mentioned, 1 Timothy 2: 5). Non-Catholic Christians have wholeheartedly condemned the process of diefying Mary, as well as the doctrines of her "immaculate conception," her "unsinfullness," and such.

At most, she is the physical mother of the physical body of Jesus; nothing more.

Mary is not the mother of God, that teaching came from the catholic church, God has no father nor mother nor beginning nor ending. Mary was the Mother of Jesus, God's Son. & now JESUS sit on the throne as our high Priest & Mediator, Mary is not our mediator.

Wow, you're smart. You've just discovered yet another contradiction in Christianity. Mary was the mother of god, but Jesus was god's son and he never had sex, actually he was god, although he died and then came back to life, and Adam and Eve, ate an apple, and.... Nothing makes sense. Read a real book and throw that bible away.

Mary is the Mother of Jesus... not the Mother of God.

God has no mother or father, son or daughter. God is God.

I am protestant and don't understand this part of the Catholic religion. I believe what you have stated. The Bible says Christ makes intercession for us. And pray to the Father in Jesus name.
