Personally, it seems like I intake less calories on the weekend. Just don't get around to eating as much. Weird.

I just started a diet program online and am tracking all of my calories eaten and burned. For fun, I tracked what I would eat in a typical day, not thinking about anything I put in my mouth. I was consuming 3500-4000 calories A DAY! I just about passed out when I realized that I should be taking in no more than 1800 and cutting back on that to 1500 to lose weight. And I thought I was eating healthy things before. Bagels with jam, cereal, chicken, vegetables etc. What I wasn't counting on was all the sugars and fats from sauces and sodas. It was crazy.

I am now using an excellent (and FREE) website called http://www.sparkpeople.com to track everything. I feel just as full as before and am not doing the mindless eating that I was doing which was causing me to gain weight. I now think about and track everything that goes in my mouth! Now I have to think and be aware and be accountable!

Are you speaking as a nation or an average? I would venture a guess that anywhere from 0 - 45000 calories can be consumed during a weekend by an American. If you are looking for a specific answer please be more precise in your questioning.
