make a note of your IMEI number by typing *06# on your mobile and no software is good in tracing your IMEI if its lost. Only the Service Provider has the access to these codes remotely. So in case of theft register a complaint mentioning the IMEI number to the police and take a copy of the complaint to your service provider who might help you trace your mobile.

u check with the customer care of the service provider ... only when they activate it , u could use ... they would charge you Rs.200 per annum...
