Have lived here for twelve years now. My daughter has had much more freedom than she would ever have had In the UK (even though we came from a small community), and she is now fully bi-lingual. It is hard work to earn a comfortable living unless you can master the language and make sure you go into the right business for you. Think hard and carefully and always make sure you have some money in the bank just to cover emergencies. Good Luck. it is a very laid back way of life and most enjoyable.

Move to Spain, definitely. They are laid back, friendly, food is not bad, prices are cheaper...weather is great. Only set back is learning the language. It isn't too hard to learn, so you should be in good shape. I'd go if I had the chance.
