I think Iran is an interesting country and in many ways I would like to go there, but there are certain things that stop me. It's a very different culture and you have very different laws and rules than I am used to and since I don't know your laws well, I'm afraid I'd get into huge trouble doing something that is considered normal in my country because it might be considered a crime or very rude in Iran.

Also, I come from a cold country (Iceland) and have problems coping with much heat and I know that I would have major trouble covering my entire body in all that heat. I need to wear a t-shirt and such light clothes to cope with the heat, otherwise I simply collapse or feel horrible, but I don't think I'd get good reactions to that kind of a dress code in Iran because women are not supposed to reveal any of their body there.

I don't believe everything I hear in the media. I'm sure Iran is nicer than the media makes it sound like, but there are obstacles and reasons why I probably won't go there any time soon.

Where is the Iranian tourist board? We can't visit if we do not know that we can or where we can go. Lonely Planet guides would help I'm sure, but Arab and extreme Muslim countries are so alien to us.
Your country to most of us westerners is , I suppose, perceived as closed, dangerous, oppressive and just generally scary. We are aware of your young and thriving population and I have even hard of a party scene.
I know, from my experiences of travel that many places are not what they are made out to be - I'm loving working in Uganda at the moment and was in Tashkent last year, but impressions stick, and a hostile leader is your spokesman and representitive. Doesn't do much for the entente cordiale does it?
Times will change as they have done before and maybe one day I will be able to visit your country, but for now, I'd rather die.

trust me in what i will tell you, one of our friends came from Iran and what he talk about your countries, i think it's not a good vacation place to go. It's not true that you are freedom, it's just a small place who they are freedom but for the other place the Iranian can't do nothing and it's the reason why many Iranian moved from their country.

Islamic Political rules !!

Ok - send me some photographs of Iranian Girls who dress free - I don't want to go there and cover my full body and wait - neither will my girlfreind like covering her self up...

The day you become more liberal - have Cable TV, nice Hotels and better infrastructure - you will get people travelling over there - like Dubai !

Oh !!!!! So you want people from other countries to come to iran so that you could kill them easily ? No way, Mr. whoever the hell you are, we are not coming to iran. First of all, why do you want all these non-believers and false-god-believers and atheists to come to your holy country ? By the way, we are interested in the pictures of Iranian girls as you say so. Are you talking about that same Iran where the women, if they are criminals are raped first before execution so that they could not go to heaven, because virgin women go to heaven directly and your islamic law does not want such women to go to heaven ? I heard that your iranian swimmers are going to participate in next Olympics wearing 'burka'. is that true ?

I have a Iranian friend. She visited a few months ago.She was not as free to go places as you say.Everywhere she had to be escorted in order not to have problems. It is too bad how Iran has changed since the Shah.

Americans are not interested in going to a country that has had a hand in trying to harm America, and threatened us with nuclear weapons...and is harboring terrorists...if you are so interested in meeting people then you travel....but i wouldn't recommend coming to America we are not as welcoming as we once were

maybe because there are wars going on in that part of the country.
To be honest these days I won't even leave the United States at all.
