I think the accent is great. The accent is very broad but it is easier on the ear than the liverpool accent. The Glasgow accent can be quite 'hard' and difficult to understand whereas the accent from the east coast is much softer

It's THE best accent ever. But the Irish accent is great too!
They can make you laugh just talking generally. I've met an conversed with many of both countries, while in the Air Force during the 1950s. THEY don't have 'snobbish' accents like we English do. The Southerners talk with too 'affected' an accent, and the Northerners talk with an unfortunate 'common' accent.
Ah.. what the heck! As for the Welsh...they always sound like they have got their mouths full of WATER!!
Still it's still ALL...'Good old -fashioned English!!!
Soooo.......3-Cheers for Good Old United Kingdom and all it's Accents and Dialects.

Born with Scots parents and brought up England and coming to Canada at age 15, I have various accents I can use and can switch rapidly, even when travelling in the southern states I start to get a drawl. Most people from a given area think they do not have an accent but the rest of the world does. When I first came to Canada they sounded more Irish. The scots refined accent is beautiful as all the consonants and vowels are correctly sounded. The female Glasgee bar queen sounds like some one gargling on scotch and talking in their throat at the same time. The nicest accents are the "mid atlantic" somewhat like Maryland with a touch of BBC English. Of course to hear dialects are great, with cockneys, Newfies, Arkansas and NZ as the best examples. A cultured Irish accent is nice, like Ronna Downey, but anything she does is OK with me! LOL.

Depends which part of Scotland. I come from the Scottish Highlands, and we do not have a strong accent - have been mistaken for Irish . Whereas Glasgow people have a fabulous earthy accent - not at all like Liverpool. You have never been in Britain or Scotland in particular or you would not ask. Come and visit us as so many tourists do and see for yourself. Also, in this part of Scotland, there are so many English settlers, I pray we do not lose our beautiful accents.

A Scottish accent is a beautiful sound, Liverpool accents are too harsh-sounding.

One thing that is great about the UK is all the regional accents. Adds to the charcater of the country. The Scottish accent is up there with the best of them.

I love the Scottish accent - I have a knack for accents, but the Scottish one is the hardest for me to imitate. It's really beautiful as are celtic accents.

Scotland has different variations to the accent. I'm from Edinburgh and that is a fairly easy to understand accent. Some of the remote Isles can be very difficult to understand even to a Scot! Glasgow has a very distinctive accent and can be recognised all over the world.
The Scots are very proud of their country and of their accents.

There are many Scottish accents, just as there are many English accents. Some Scots can't understand each other.
