Talk to the boss about your concerns - but yes, you should be prepared to find another job. There's a chance that the boss can address whatever issue is going on between you and the son, but if he has to choose between the two of you, he'll almost certainly choose to side with family over a "loyal servant".
If you have to leave but the boss really values you, he can potentially be very helpful in finding you another job - but that won't happen unless you talk to him first.

This is a common situation. The son feels threatened by the father's appreciation of some one other than his son and the son, as a result, acts like a jerk.
You can try feeding the son's confidence in his position as the number 2 guy or you can find a new job.

If the dad really still is the boss, what does it matter what his son thinks? Maybe just request a meeting with all present, lay your cards on the table and ask the reason for this dislike. Maybe it could clear things up and what do you have to lose at this point?

Happened to me. Bosses son was an idiot, but what can you do? Move on, change jobs.

First talk to your boss, if he is talkable. Tell him you don't work for his son, and want son out of your business. If Boss is whipped by son, you need to look for another place to work.

.. well number one? why should the boss' son hate u.... if it's a contract job i think u know that legally he can't fire u... but for the sake of peace u look for another job...

MOve on. Use it to make you a better person. Get a different job and ask for more money more vacation and more benefits. Make up your mind to make this the best thing that evre happened to you. : )
