No i wouldn't name my daughter Preston. Preston is more of a boys name than a girls. Just think if you name her that she'll get teased in school. Good Luck with whatever you choose.

Name your daughter whatever you like. Preston sounds like a strong, young woman!! Just try to think of what kids might do with it. But hey with the way names are these days...i.e. Rob Morrow's daughter - Tu Morrow; Penn Gillette's daughter - Moxie Crimefighter Gillette; Jason Lee's son - Pilot Inspector Lee. Preston suddenly sounds okay, right?

Nope. Not only is it usually only a boy's name, it's a suburb near where I lived so the poor girl would get laughed out of town. I probably wouldn't name my son that either, even if I didn't live around here. It seems a bit too "posh", really, and only actual posh people should name thier kids names like that. Otherwise they come across as "wannabes"

Preston is a great name for a boy. Maybe Priscilla would be a little closer.

It's okay, but for the rest of her life people are going to think she is a boy. My first name is gender neutral, and even though there are probably 1 million females with my name, people still think I am a guy sometimes and send me mail addressed to "Mr." I even got a notice to register with the selective service or whatever it is when I turned 18!

So if you think that is okay, then go for it! She'll probably be the only girl with that name.

I wouldn't, because it's a boy name and your child it's a girl so it wouldn't be good. I suggest: think for another name and if you don't like another name, you could name it Anna/ Rebeca/ Eva/ Erika (or something else) Preston.

I like the name Preston, but I think it sounds more appropriate for a boy. I like these names for girls: Madison (Maddie), Kayce, Payton, Olivia, Camille, or Clare.

If I grew up with the name preston, I would have killed myself. If you love your daughter stay away from that name.

two points, you have to consider the affect on the child, and you have to ask yourself why you want to give your child this name. if its to honor someone significant in your life, that is fine, but i would suggest using it as a middle name or calling her "toni" and telling her why you named her preston ... i know 4 girls that have exclusinely boys names and it has done them no harm, they have feminized them in nicknames.
