The ancient Greeks called Hell 'Helios', that's where the would stems from. Helios is the hot place or the Sun, and also the Earth's core. The bottomless pit is a description of a black hole. Every star including the Sun will eventually become a black hole which will consume the entire solar system. On the other side of the black hole is the big bang and it starts all over again. So if God created the Sun that means he created Hell as well. It is a fact that the Sun is a blessing for some and a destroyer of others, so i guess it does serve a purpose. Keep using that factor 8.

Too many people always try to make God, A God of Love, Well first of all God is A God of love, But he is also a God of Judgement, Wrath, Vengence. The bible says, Vengence is my saith the Lord, I will repay. God Created Hell, Now don't put the Blame on God, If there was no sin, then there will be no use for hell. So the sinners way of life is why God Created hell. But one day Hell will give up the dead & those souls will be cast into a lake of fire. Also created by God for the unbelievers.

Yes, it was created by god to deal with sinful Humans who do not obey his commands. It is punishment. That is the purpose of it.

Ngative reinforcement. God is probably not a liberal.

Not existing would be your take on it. Better off? Suppose there was no punishment for anything we did? Do you thin that would work?

so it is not a contradiction. No more than if you punished a twelve year old because you found him smoking pot in his room. You punish him out of love.....

No contradiction there.

you posted a very good question.

PS to bobbin and rude Christian...Yes hell is mentioned in the bible numerous times and as to what it is it is plain to anyone who is educated. Do a search.

hell doesn't exist. there's no biblical refernce to it as a place of eternal torture. You're right, why would a loving god create such a place?

the idea of a firey place of torment is a medieval thing concocted by the church to gain power over the populace. In the bible, it explains that when a person dies, they become as is asleep, not concious of anything. References to a place of fire and destruction are confused with the site of Gehenna.

some background: outside the walls of Jerusalem was a rubbish dump, in effect, where fire constantly burned to dispose of the city's waste. Crimials bodys were refused burial and were often thrown to the fire after execution. the illustration of Gehenna is also used in proficy when talking about the wicked and the devil being hurled in to Gehenna.

The profectic Gehenna is eternal destruction, also known as the second death, i.e a place of no return. the devil will be destroyed (not tormented forever as the myth goes) and will not come back. his wicked followers will suffer the same fate instead of having the hope of resurretion.

hope this helps

Well Why does every Country, every Government Creates a Prison?
To keep the disturbing elements in one place and also to teach others not become a Disturbing element to others...

Of course God Created Hell for this purpose and every government follow his intelligent Decision.

it is biblical that there are consequences for our actions. if someone spends a lifetime ignorant and deliberately against God, who made them in the first place, theres going to be a consequence. God offers forgiveness and acceptance to Heaven, so if someone chooses not to believe that then Hell is where they will go. Satan himself was an angel who turned his back on God. Everything was created by God.

Well, the religious answer would be God, cause he kicked Ark Angel Lucifer out of heaven! But I actually think that we live out heaven and hell here on earth! I have experienced both wonderful things and evil things in my life. As many others I am sure have. We just have to do the best with the hand that we have been dealt.

There is no hell, if Jehovah God is a god of love, why would he want to punish us in that way. Hell does not serve any purpose, there isnt a verse in the bible that talks about hell.

Heavens and Hells have been created by GOD and only GOD can do that; for those deserving and those to be punished. So as human beings be good to ALL regardless of race or religion; and be kind to animals as well.
