i want to know what is the best time to stop showering cause we shower till 9:30pm and when is the best time to get the peopke up cause we get out at 5a we have to get people up at 3a i just want to know cause i did talk to my D.O.N she said to do have we have to do to get the people up so let me know what yall think

I worked in nursing homes for almost 20yrs., all shifts. There are many pts. to take care of and many things to do. I always thought we were short staffed and wanted to spend more time with each and every pt. but couldn't. Showering at 9:30 isn't bad but I always thought getting them at the crack of dawn was terrible,unless one wanted to which many did not. 3am is cruel and I'm sure many of them start falling asleep again after getting them up. Does their family members know what time their getting up? I really don't think they would approve. There must be a better way to do this but no one wants to listen. I tried suggesting other options but no one listened, they just wanted to get the job done. Sad situation.

No they usually wake them up at 6 or 7 AM, right before breakfast.

it's the DON's call. I would do the oriented people as eary as possible. You can save the confused people for later as they are disoriented to time anyway.
