"There were also women prophets, known as "prophetesses". This fact is not very well known among some Christians. But the following passages are evidence not only of God's willingness to use women to speak His word; but proof that He did use women to proclaim His will.

Yet in spite of the Biblical evidence some refuse to believe that God has used women to deliver His word. Others suggest that this was merely an Old Testament event which has nothing to do with the Christian Church.

So, in order to clarify the position of the early Church on women, we shall look at a few texts which demonstrate that women did indeed take part in the ministry of the Word in the New Testament period. (see theology site info below)

Miriam, Deborah, Huldah, Noadiah, Anna to name a few mentioned in new and old testaments.

Yet, in spite of the Old and New Testament evidence, some people still maintain that women did not and should not proclaim the Word. Such folks are unaware of the Biblical evidence. Yet if they are aware of the Biblical evidence and choose to ignore it to maintain their views then we ought not despair- for if they will not listen to God on the subject they most certainly not listen to us."

The good thing about your statement is that you believe in prophets. And by saying that you too believe in GOD. As such never question GOD because that was GOD's choice. "Be and it be". The One and Only and the Creator of the Worlds.

because that would give an unfair and unreasonable influence and burden on that individual woman. women have motherhood, men have prophethood. a mother is much more influential than a prophet, in most cases.

the bible mentions 4 prophetesses, Mariam, sister of Moses, Deborah, prophet and judge, the unnamed prophetess who announced the mission of Jesus, and one other that I can't recall at this moment.

Women have other duties as well to attend to like looking after children and they have children as well, they even breast feed and have periods. They cannot possibly go out and start preaching can they. You also have to think whether women will be able to bear the pain and persecutions all the Prophets beared. Thats why. Take care man.
