I have plenty of other things to do but I love Yahoo Answers!
For me it's partly contribution, and personal growth. I tend to think about what I'm saying (to be responsible) and therefore I get more understanding about a subject.when I give an answer.
Why do you answer questions ?

Good question - made me think. I realise that this is one of the reasons I answer questions on yahoo along with - enjoy doing it, learning from others answers, learning about myself - (including something in my sex life that I have kept suppressed in the past - answers gave a way of breaking the ice on the subject), hope to contribute something for others in return.

Well, I don't answer every question I read, some of them are just beyond my knowledge. Or just too weird for me.
I like answering questions because ... I don't know, sometimes I think I might be able to help someone find a solution to a difficult problem, or simply because they question is of a subject that I feel strongly about ... I don't answer questions simply to get points, unless of course the question is deliberately trite and the questioner is having a bit of a laugh. Nor do I give mean answers ...

I started out doing it just for something to do but now I find it a big help!! Not only can I get many outsiders points of views but I might truly make a difference in someones life. I have been contacted by many of the people I've answered even if they don't pick mine as their best they still have let me know that I helped them so it is a nightly and morning routine now.

I don't know. I was thinking about this the other day, but I didn't come to a real answer. Sometimes, I do it because I'm bored. Other times I do it to learn from myself and others. Sometimes I do it so that I can appreciate how lucky I am. No matter how bad something in my life seems, I can't complain too much. This can help put my life in perspective.

coz i enjoy it! any advice I can give that genuinely helps someone can make me feel good and I love when I get best answer as it shows that person appreciates your advice.
On a more selfish note - I use answers as a source of entertainment during the day - its a nice break in between work duties!
And as for asking questions - you really do get some great advice - in fact Ill take this opportunity to thank anyone that ever answered me! Thanks guys! X

I always give my best possible answer because
a) I like to help people
b) I like to put my opinions against others to check my validity and the accuracy of my perceived knowledge levels
c) I like to learn
d) Its fun and there are some cool people on here ;)
