Weren't the Bible authors referring to the Middle Eastern areas when writing this? If the United States was this, then a different description would have been used. They described the regions shown to them as they knew them by their name at that time.

The tower of Babel (a confused mixture of sounds). It is found smack dab in the middle of ISLAM! So that (using your own logic would mean that - ISLAM IS THE IMPERIAL RULER!! O NO!! WE ARE BEING RULED BY A BUNCH OF MEN WHO WEAR TOWELS ON THEIR HEADS! WOE UNTO US!!! Get a life.
