It is NOT a complete waste of time!

May 22, 2003, my grandfather is in the hospital struggling to breathe. The priest arrived at 10:30 and administered last rites with me, my mother, my husband and my child present. It was comforting to us and I believe it helped my grandfather get ready for the end. He died about 15 minutes later.

Your pastor or the chaplain of a well-being center elect no longer be paid in any respect. you is probably no longer refused a sacrament which you ask for without grave reason on the area of the priest. some defrocked priests and scam artists pose as priests and demand fee from marginalized human beings interior the U. S.. they're crooks. do no longer use them. in case you're rich and the well-being center or your house is a protracted tension, it is recommended to offer the priest some thing for gasoline. maximum priests will take any money you supply them and turn it over to the parish. in case you have chose the priest to take the money, supply him 2 envelopes. One with a contribution to the parish and one to thank him for popping out. Any volume. If it have been me it may be an entire of 10 to 50 money a million/2-a million/2 to the parish-to the priest.

It's not that it's meaningless altogether. I'm sure it brings much comfort to people in those situations. But that prayer is not what saves you, it is more of a church tradition. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, especially to comfort those who are mourning, or very sick. Just don't mistake it for more than a nice prayer by a caring priest. Someone's else's words are no substitution for what is in the individual's heart. And God looks on the heart.

they believe it cleanses the person of sin. romans 6:7, 23 show that we pay for our sin with our lives. once you have paid for your sin, you can look forward to the resurrection back to earth after armageddon. (well you could if it weren't for ecclesiates 9:5 lol)
