I already told you, he is protecting his feelings. He is probably hurt that you are leaving, but as a guy, he can't show it.
I suggest that after you are gone, you write him an email or something. If he doesn't respond, then that's it. You are both teens with your whole lives ahead. When you get to your new country, you will meet many new people. Good luck - I am jealous that you have such a great opportunity.

If he is only fourteen what do expect? I realize you are hurt, but did you ever think that if he likes you maybe he is trying to separate his self so it doesn't hurt him so bad? If you find out other wise then he is just a boy, but if you don't isn't that a better way to think about things?

you're young....not serious enough to spend time dwelling on. if he doesn't want to talk , maybe he just doesn't know how to say good bye.
