Some of these responses are interesting. I don't personally have ties to any faith, and I don't fear for humanity with or without it. Human nature is the same across any religious boundaries, and I think that is where you should be looking first for an answer.

Its a fairy tale alright. Who could have imagined over 7 billion people living in a garden, roaming about naked and doing virtually nothing but picking fruits. Jehovah Witness people still believe such trash. Can you imagine.

Starting now or from Genesis? If it had never happened we would have played hopscotch and jump rope with God in the Garden of Eden forever. As far as from starting now it is irrelevant because we can now have salvation from sin through the grace given by Christ to believers.

we would still be in The Garden of Eden without any comprehensions except what THE DEITY tells us. civilization, knowledge and wisdom would not exist.

Then we would have been tested in some other way. Our first parents were tested by God to see whether they would choose to obey and to trust God or not. Unfortunately they chose not.
