I IM his sister and told her to say goodbye to for me since I feel he doesn't care or doesn't want to talk to me

Saying goodbye is one of the most difficult things to do, especially at a young age. Are you coming back? Will you try to remain in contact with him? Perhaps in his mind, maybe if he doesn't say goodbye then you won't actually leave, (if he doesn't say goodbye, then you can't either) so he doesn't have to deal with it at all. Do your best to reassure him that you will stay in contact (if you can), tell him he's been a great friend or whatever, but try to make him understand that it's painful for you to say goodbye too, but sometimes things can't be helped. maybe he feels hurt. i'm leaving my country in about 10 days,too,and the only person that i really cared for doesn't even look at me.

He is distancing himself from you in order to protect his feelings. It's what guys do. Don't feel angry at him; he can't help it.
