So at some point, i may have kids, but so far, my main worry, is having them in this country.. The school system sucks, eg sweedish/japanese or even american, are so much better. And i mean, 2 years for GCSE's try 6 months. This whole bringing in new laws at midnight on a sunday, like this new car seat thing, what the hell. Having to let a health visitor in.. Most of them say having an animal with a young child is dangerous.. Most english kids seem like wild animals, who watch tv, beg for electronics, and hang on street corners, breaking things, whilst having a cig....

They cant have respect for the government, the teachers have given up, nobody can disiplin them.

We have no control over things like going to war, or laws imposed, or the millions of pounds of tax spent stupidly....

TV, is teaching a slutty, violent, egotistical, yet frightened attitude..

I really cant justify having kids in england, maybe canada... Maybe even the USA, and i really dont want to live there

It isn't down to the kids, its down to the parents why children are turning into monsters. A child isn't born bad, it's brought up that way. If parents won't look after their own offspring then of course its up to the state to do it.

As for state schools, there are alternatives, but judging by your people shouldn't live in big houses post, you probably think people shouldn't send their kids to private schools either.

If you want a child then you are responsible for it, what it watches, what it does, who it mixes with, teaching it respect for authority..... and this is your responsibility alone, wherever you live!

And as for the car seat issue you raise... so what? More reseach has been done and it's deemed safer to keep them in these boosters for longer....... why does that offend you so much? Does it offend you when the law states that you have to wear your seat belt so some poor bloody policeman doesn't have to scrape you off your bonnet?

You have a very warped view of life... in what other country do you think you are going to dictate where the government spend your taxes? Good luck with that... you are either very young or very naive.

You want to leave England... then sure go right ahead... but remember... wherever you go... same s.hit... different shaped bottle that's all.

I also find some of your comments mildly offensive.
I've got to be honest with you and say that if this is your attitude to our wonderful country then you are likely to whinge and moan about any country you move to. No country is perfect but our is near the top of the pile. You mention America a couple of times, sorry but please don't compare the two. by all means move to the US but be prepared for the same stuff you mention and more.

I've got to agree with Aslan here and recommend you pick him as best answer.

Grow up, look around you and stop moaning. Every comment you make about England can easily be countered (not enough time to address them all!) We fought hard to get our daughter into a good local school and are very happy with her teaching. Yes i see yobs around but as other have said; that is because of bad parents not a bad country and you will certainly find bad parents in every country.
do you honestly believe that residence of other countries have more control over their government then we do? would you rather Italy? which has easily the most corrupt government in the world? of the US which has the stupidest?
You are too blinkered and need to open your eyes to the wonders this country has to offer.

Actually, I've decided. please move abroad and leave us to enjoy our great country

You can't just blame education and the state for the thousands of horrible children in the UK.

Its mostly how you bring them up. I have two lovely children, who go to lovely schools with lovely friends. The horrible children you're talking about, learning crap from TV are learning it because they've got horrible parents who sit them in front of the TV because they can't be a r s e d parenting!

If you live in a nice area of the UK, and you bring up your children to have respect for authority, and keep an eye on who there friends are, there is no reason for them to grow into these horrible kids.

I moved house when mine were due to start school, so they could go to a nice school with nice children. Where i used to live was full of the lazy scrounging scumbags and their spawn! I only had to move 6 miles away to find the nice people!

i am English and find that you exaggerate rather

OK we are rather more legalistic in our approach to life than our American cousins but we do have a great accent, fantastic scenery and no one lives more than 100 miles away from the ocean

a lot of TV shown is American TV anyways but there is always the off switch

our health visitors certain don't operate a 'foot in the door' approach and social workers tend not to either unless they have reason to believe that a child is at risk of being abused.

i find the education system to be one of the best in the world and also is being built in caring principles especially in the earlier years of being more child centered.

the last two years of education that are compulsory are the exam years (GCSE's) which the kids are helped along and are given coursework for. then at 16 they have many choices - to go to work or to train or choose an academic path. and most young people are actually very nice people (just a f ew that aren't that seem to get all the media attention). Most young people re sick and tired of the yobbos - and at least as sick of them as you are

perhaps we need to go back to the middle ages when children as young as 9 were incarnated along with adults - job done with no need for child seats or yobbos on the corner then

I agree with you, but I wouldn't go to America (kind of like jumping from the frying pan into the fire). I love Italy and would like my children to grow up there. It's not perfect by any means, I don't suppose anywhere is, but the kids seem better behaved, more mature, confident, respectful members of society - perhaps because they're not sidelined like they are here. The lifestyle, weather, food, culture etc is far better than ours - in fact I don't know what I'm still doing here!!

Well, I suggest doing research on the area's education system before you move to a new country. I live in the United States, and I understand that some area's education system are worse than others. If all else fails, you could send your student to a private school!
Good luck on your future family and possible move!!!

Depends what languages you can speak, maybe go live in Germany. They're school system is vastly different from ours. They go in at 7am and finish at lunchtime but go on saturday's too. They work very hard and have an excellent discipline culture. There is a good English speaking comunity over there and if you got a job abroad there, then your children could be bi-lingual.

I think you have several valid points but I have heard that education in the US is actually much worse than ours. I would think Germany might well be a good option, myself I would probably choose Italy or France. Outside Europe, yes I would probably pick Australia, New Zealand or Canada.

Lets hope you find some one who's loaded as in Canada you have to pay for everything and you don't get help with child care costs etc! Yes it has its down side but not all do and turn out like you suggested!

all the reasons why I moved to France. The children are so respectful of adults and the school and health systems are superb. Also there is the added bonus that any French problem is not mine!!
