Don't forget the health problems caused by cigarettes. If they were not such a huge business they would be illegal. I heard years ago, probably in the 70's when things in this country were decidedly less conservative than they are now that the big tobacco companies were anticipating legalization of marijuana and had all the marketing in place waiting for the green light.

for me --it should not been declared illegal. Maybe it should be regulated;;
In fact studies in England are under way to use marijuana as treatment to
some diseases ....maybe 25 years old and above are allowed as a stress remedy...at this age most are employed --responsible , professional and gaining income

well i understand u. cigarettes are actually worse then marijuanna. the gov. beleives if they just make it legal everyone will do it alot more... well duh rite.. but if u have ever met a serious pot head.. theyl steal money for it ,they become lazy, irresponsible, all they care abt is pot... their next hit. the society will become way more lousy, and many ppl wont work cuz they r really unreliable, and on top of that americas already got sum bad schooling compared to other countries. and their trying to make everyone smarter... so ya... it shud be legal cuz it shud be legal cuz alcohol worse. but then also it shudnt be legal b/c wat i jus said. so now u decide

Because there are too many people around that disapprove of "drugs" while holding their beer bottle and chucking in pain killers all day long, and another lot that thinks having fun of any kind should be outlawed, because they themselves don't have any.

There are no benefits for the government. they know if it were legalized, people aren't going to pay tax on there dope. You only need grow one plant per person to sustain yourself.
I don't smoke dope, but if people want to that's their choice. Not mine.
