If “twitching” involves muscle spasms in eyelids, the condition very likely is related to your nervous system. For example, it is theorized that “eye twitches” involving these muscles can be related to emotional stress or physical eye strain—i.e., staring at a computer all day.

Eye twitching of this type usually is transitory and not considered serious. The official name for involuntary muscle twitching near the eye is called blepharospasm, which (according to Neurology published by the American Academy of Neurology) can have triggers such as irritants including smoke or bright light.

More severe forms of involuntary eyelid flutters can actually be blinding. Botulinum toxin injections (Botox) that deaden nerves and eliminate involuntary muscle spasms are considered the treatment of choice for more severe blepharospasm.

If the eye itself twitches, a much more serious problem could be an underlying condition.

Nerves--this is a common tic in younger adults. Or possibly, eyestrain; you may need to have your eyes tested, or use the computer less. Put in some soothing drops like Optrex and give your eyes a rest by closing them for a few minutes and then go outside where you can look at things at a distance.

It could be because your over tired, and or have eye strain, I get it sometimes especially if i've been in front of the computer too long, it feels like a pulsing feeling in either eyelid. But if your worried go to the opticians.

It could be eye strain. You may need glasses or contacts. It could also be from doing to much close up work. Staying on the computer too long does that to my eyes. Maybe you should have your eyes checked.

usually just means you are straining them to hard. try relaxation techniques, make sure the lighting is right for reading, books or computer screen, and be sure to get plenty of rest. If it continues and becomes to bothersome see your doctor.
