I think your question is refers to the wood on the inside of the humidor, rather than the outside.

And for that there is only ONE anwer:

Spanish Cedar.

Spanish cedar when seasoned (humidified to 70% WITHOUT cigars for 3 days) will absorb water into the wood helping to keep a consistant humidity for your cigars and will help in aging them. Tobacco growers also age their raw leaves in Sapnish Cedar.

All ciagr boxes, humidors, and cigar store walk in humidors are made with only Spanish Cedar.

DO NOT use american Cedar as it is too aromatic and with adversly affect the flovor of your cigars.

I am not sure where you can get Spanish Cedar, but it can't be impossible or even that difficult to find, as I know of very few walk in humidors that do not have it.

While your making humidors, I would gladly pay you to make one for me :)

Teak but I don't know source.....Zebra wood from Africa is beautiful but same problem....I used to buy mine from and importer in NYC...but can't remember name...I got address from Popular Mechanix magazine.
