Windows XP doesn't support a domain of computer like Windows 2000 server.

Windows XP can have minimal networking capabilities compared Windows 2000 server.

Windows XP can't act as a server of a network

Definately not!
When a provider is releasing a s/w they add more features to existed one,
so xp = ++(windows 2000);
According 2 ur requirements u can use either.

Only BETA version of Vista is avalable.The complete proper version is said to be out this christmas.But if you dont care about the fonts,icons,....then go for windows 98.It is the only stable OS given by microsoft till date .Vista is said to priced at around Rs 9000.

Yes it is but thats like saying a McDonalds cheesburger is better than a Burger King cheeseburger. Both operating systems have significant flaws but 2000 is more stable. NOW IF YOU REALLY WANT A PIECE OF CRAP WAIT FOR VISTA..........ITS DOWNRIGHT OBSCENE!

Less functionality. But it also uses less resources. It is pretty much a wash in my book.

I have XP on my whole network, so I guess that means I think the functionality is worth it. I would not buy the upgrade though.

No it is not better than windows Xp
But if you want the latest operating software its WINDOWS LONGHORN (Vista)
