This is her Second litter, Her first were all stillborn. I am very nervous and would like alot of advice from other pitbull owners ( Only those who have the breed as PETS. not guard dogs or fighting dogs.) Our Thea is our babygirl #1. (Our other is a 5mo. old Pekingese, who by the way is 100x more aggressive than our rednose pitt.) I would just welcome some advice Please. Thank you

Take her to the vet if you haven't already, a whole litter of still born pup's is not at all normal. You say these pup's are for pet owner's, not for fighting or guarding. What about their pup's and the pup's on down the line from there? you are not doing the breed any favors, wake up and THINK about what you're doing. Visit an animal shelter and ask what happen's to the Pitt's that come thru their door for surrender. In my town they go straight to the kill room. Go pay attention to how many of these poor thing's are short chained in yard's and ignored. The prospect of Pitt's going to a really good home is almoat non-existant.Do the breed a favor and spay that dog as soon as the pup's are weaned. The little bit of money you get from this is certainly blood and torture money.

I am so glad you mentioned the aggression in the pek. I have come across pits that have been fought and they are still sweet as can be. It is a pits innate nature to love and respect people. Their breed was bred to serve people. I have come up on people on the street telling me to be careful with their pit its mean. Mean my ****. They are so eager for attention and a happy cheerful person will just set the emotions and tails a wagin.

As for babies. You said all of them were stillborn in the last litter. You should have spayed her. But stay calm and let her do what she needs to do. Is she comfortable in her nesting box and is she in there on her own. If they were stillborn before its possible there will be stillborns this time. I would have some fresh water handy for her since it might be a hard labor. I would also suggest taking her to the vet after wards to make sure all fetuses came out.

OK, I'm assuming you've introduced her to her whelping box so she can nest. You need to keep your pek. out of the room totally so Thea can be relaxed. You need to just stay close to her now in case she needs (or wants) your help. Just because of the tragedy with her first litter doesn't mean it'll happen again - relax.

Once she starts having contractions, keep an eye on her. Having puppies is a natural occurrence - I'd only call the vet if you can see she's in trouble. Otherwise, if she lets you help (and my females always wanted help) you can check to make sure the puppies are breathing ok as soon as they're born (don't try to take them out of Thea's reach). I always liked to cut and tie the cords myself because the mom's are often too rough and can cause a hernia. I also only let my moms eat 1 - 2 afterbirths because any more than that will give them the runs pretty bad.

Good luck with the birth - I'm sure all will be ok!

keep her calm. keep the other dog away from her if she gets aggravated at the pekinese. some like to be alone, others want someone right there with them.

i would talk to the vet since the first litter were all stillborn and see what the vet thinks. also the vet can tell you exactly how you can help her if a pup gets stuck or breech.

hello, i have come from a family that has breed show dogs for over 25 years , keeshounds. i now have a brussels griffon to show of my own. i have helped my family deliver many liters. this is what you need to do, get a welping box, usually a small kiddie pool works best, line it with news papers and try to have a heating lamp as well. puppies sometimes need the warmth if you have air or your house is just drafty. have another small box with a heating pad in it and cloth baby diapers handy, they do not have terry cloth loops on them that the puppies can get hooked on with there nails. have also a asperator, its a round ball with a 1in. to 2in. snout on it for sucking out mucus from the puppies lungs. once the mother starts to give birth take each puppy as it comes, some will be hours apart, and rub it with a towel in your hands to start breathing and clean them off. i f they do not start to breath use the aspirator by gently but swiftly putting it in the puppies mouth to suction out the mucus that may be blocking. let the mother lick the puppy as well. then place it in the small box with the heating pad when she starts to deliver another puppy. once all puppies are delivered then give mom her babies back. if a puppy comes breach its not like humans, pull the puppy out do not wait for mom to get it out all the way and repeat the previous steps that i explained. when the mother is done let her eat the after birth this will start her milk flow properly and it will give her the extra nutrients that the puppies need. i hope this helps you.

Gee people on here get really high and mighty on here and attack others. I am getting really sick of it. My sister's dog had puppies and most of them were stillborn and the reason for that was because they were inside the mother too long. My sister wasn't aware of the conception date. Keep a towel close by in case you need to rub the chests to get them to breathe. Congratulations on being a mummy, Thea!

Its ok, dont listen to ignorant idiots who believe everything they read in the papers. If you are really really nervous, go to a vet, and get everything checked. I am expecting pups from this breed too, second litter as well, in a 2 weeks. keep in touch. Let her find a space which she feels comfortable enough in, make sure is it a big area, so she can walk around without stepping on the pups.

My advise is look at what you are doing to the breed...we don't need more back yard breeders. You are doing "us" no justice by breeding your dog. You are obviously not a legitimate breeder, or you would know this, nor would you be breeding a dog that had a WHOLE STILL BORN LITTER!!!?? WTF! Do you not see that as a problem...Here's your sign...

Do all responsible bully owners a favor, and after this "litter" still born or not...Get her spayed and stop contributing to the ignorance problem.

Make sure that you have scissors around.. When she give birth make sure that she is opening the sacs in time, if not you will have to help her rip them open, also make sure that she is not chewing the cord to close to the pups if she chews to close it could cause heavy bleeing. If she wont chew the cord make sure you use scissors in a downward angle with atleast an inch of the cord attached. when all of this is done get a towel and sling all of the excess liquid out of their lungs, just make sure you are holding their heads tightly when doing so.
