I saw something on the news or somewhere (or maybe i dreamt it) where a guy cut off the chickens head and it stayed alove for months cause he didn't cut one some of the brain stem and the passageways for air and food. He fed it through the hole with an eye dropper and it stayed alive for a long time, but eventually died from choking or something like that.

A chicken can run around for a few minutes because it is being stimulated by its autonomic nervous system. When we killed chickens as a kid they did that so I can speak from experience here.
