I have to buy a car and I can choose between a V8 petrol porsche cayenne S and a V10 diesel Volkswagen toareg.I know that this two cars have allmost the same horse power.

The diesel might be more fuel efficient but when you factor in the added cost for the diesel lump it may take many years to amortize the added cost with fuel savings. If you put a LOT of miles on, go with the diesel. Otherwise, stick with the petrol lump.

It all depends on the specifications of the engine.
The diesel engine tends to be more fuel efficient but may use more fuel to reach the same horse power as the petrol.
On the other hand deisel is generally cheaper.

I would say the diesel would be...they're making more and more econmical diesel...but...seriously a V W or a Porsche? Go porsche!
