Windows 2000 or 2K is a server OS based on the NT OS
Windows XP uses some of the NT code but isn't for servers.
Actually if you want a server use a Linux based OS because Windows sucks

Win2k/XP Prof intended for corporate cubicals and Win XP Home intended for home.
But anyone have a bit of insight would agree XP is just 2000 in prettier clothing and update patches per that going gold date, underneath they are even more similar then the comparison you can draw in 98SE/ME.
Oh 2000/XP is under an NT-rized lineage, while 98SE/ME is under a DOS lineage; don't mix that up; that's something of embarrasement if you do bongle that in front of a technical interview.
