yes do bring a gift. check and see if the mom to be has been registered somewhere. that takes a lot of fuss out of what to get. if your not the godmother or really close to the mom to be i don't see you having to say any blessings or anything like that . its not a ceremony its just a party so the mom to be can have the things she need when she does have the baby.

It isn't really a ceremony. You won't be expected to give any blessing. You should just congratulate the mother to be. A baby shower is like a birthday party for the baby before it is born. You should dress nicely as you would for any party, and bring a gift for the baby. If you don't know what kind of gift to get for a baby, a gift card to a store that sells baby items would be perfect. You could find a nice card that says something about new babies on it, and slip in some cash or a check. There will probably be games and cake, have a nice time!

Ceremony?? It's not a ceremony it's a party. Yes, bring a gift!! That's really what the party is for- to help the new mother get ready for the baby. There will most likely be games and food. Go and have a good time. You don't have to say any sort of blessing.

If you plan to attend the party, you should RSVP to the hostess. Information on where to RSVP should be listed on the invitation.
DO bring a gift, whatever you can afford. Anything is appreciated from a simple onesie to a package of diapers. This is a party to help mother-to-be in getting together all of the items she will need for her new arrival.
I don't believe I've been to a shower where there has been any type of ceremony. Usually just fun games with a baby theme and light refreshments, and the mother opens the gifts for her new arrival.
If the mother-to-be has a gift registry, it will take some of the guess-work out of selecting gifts, as you will know what she still needs for the baby and will be able to see if others have purchased any of those items for her yet.
Have a great time, and best wishes to you and for the mother-to-be.

A baby shower is a party to help the mother get things she needs for the baby. You should bring a gift. Anything is useful. Clothing, socks, diapers, baby shampoo, etc... There isn't any ceremony that I know of. It's just kind of a pre-birthday party. (-: There's usually some games and refreshments and the mother opens presents.

You are expected to bring the baby a gift. But other than that, you are there to enjoy the time with some other ladies and probably eat something very tasty. Enjoy!!
