I found life to be very complicated when I was younger. I was always very independent and found it hard that my parents acted as if they owned me. I used to declare 'I'm not your daughter, I am mine!'
I also found it very difficult to deal with the lack of control that I had. If my parents wanted to do something, I had to do it too, if they wanted me to go somewhere with them, I had to go.
I also had lots of fears, e.g. of the dark and the nameless things that stalk little children (in my imagination), of spiders, of people shouting, etc, and these used to really terrify me! Now I know that those fears were irrational.
I feel that now at 27 I have control over my life. I have a lot more responsibility such as paying bills, working, carrying on my education, etc, but these are all done on my terms for me.
I'd hate to go back to childhood to all those constraints and fears!

Definitely when I was younger. No responsibility. What a life!! And growing when I did versus my kids growing up now......it's crazy.
the drugs and violence that is going on today is no where near anything that I had to deal with. We could be gone all day and mom and dad knew we were OK but now a days you never know. Our kids have alot more things to deal with and we as parents have to make sure that they are aware of everything!!!!!!

Definitely when I was younger. I didn't have responsibilities, didn't understand that the things I wanted cost money...
The only thing I had to worry about was which cereal to eat for breakfast & what cartoon I was going to watch.
Then being in school, that was still much better than being an adult.

When we are young of course. As children, we have our parents or some type of guardian look out for us. Feed us, clothes us, take us where we want to go. But as adults we must do these thing on our own. We start worrying about money problems and things like that. But life is never simple. How can it be? We just have to let life take its toll on us.

Definitely when I was younger. I didn't have to worry about all the things I have to worry about now. Being an adult stinks sometimes.

Life is more complicated at 32 than it was at 22, but I feel like I have more control over things now, so I like older more.

Most definitely easier when i was younger, i didn't have to do a damn thing except get good grades, eat, sleep and play.
But i'm glad i'm older as now i'm able to make my own decisions and live my life as i see fit.
