Raven went out of business in the early 1990's. These guns were of questionable quality and today are worth only $60-$70 in 100% condition.
The real question here is:
Why would anyone who wants to protect themselves and their loved ones choose a junk handgun like this one?
My advice is buy a quality handgun that is up to the task of protecting the most valuable things you have, your life and your family. A revolver of at least .38 caliber is a much better choice.

A Raven is what use to be called a "Saturday Night Special" or now a "Junk Gun." They're very poor quality with reliability issues. When they break, they're generally not worth fixing. For a little more, you could buy yourself a used Taurus, Ruger, or something along those lines that you could be sure would function. Also, companies like Taurus have a lifetime warranty on their weapons that will get them fixed, normally for free, if there is a problem. New, you can get Rugers and Taurus pistols for a decent price. If you're wanting a decent concealed carry pistol that doesn't cost much, look at Kel-Tec. They make a great little concealed carry pistol, the P-32 that will practically disappear for around 300 dollars. Also, they offer it in .25 ACP, but I'd got with the .32 ACP.

I have a cobra enterprise CA-380 .380auto. Looks just like a raven and very inexpensive. I've read alot of bad press about the gun but mine is great. I had feed problems but after contacting the company they said to work the slide a little to break it in with out firing hundreds of rounds. So I did I dropped the mag and worked the slide here and there and had no problems out of it since. At 8yds it's very accurate and groups where with in 1/2 inch. Even had one 5rnd string with 3 holes (2rnds same hole). I didn't get a chance that day at the range to try any farther shots but 8yds is good enough for me for defensive practice. This is my back up any way my primary I get out to 20 yds off hand.

protection? If you plan on using a 25ACP, you'd better get close and shoot for the face : ( 25 Acp is only slightly more powerful than 22LR. And the short barrel makes it hard to hit your target. Depending on what you plan to protect,.
House?consider a shotgun -- a lot heavier, but more powereful. and bird shot wouldn't go through the walls and annoy the neighbors.
For carrying? a 380 probably is minimum Kel-tec makes the lightest, smallest 380, but it only holds 6 (?) rounds and again has a short barrel.
Go to a gun range, and rent some guns, see what is comfortable, and you can narrow your choices.
consider: this might save your life, so realiablity is important, and "cheap" guns are not usually reliable.

A Raven .25 is worthless as a gun for protection or anything else for that matter. As someone else said ,at least a .38 If you are going to shoot someone, shoot to kill or they might take your gun away from you & show you how its done. Never aim if you don't intend to pull the trigger. Always buy from a reputable gun dealer,
AND most important take lessons if you don't know anything about guns.Save a life ,it might be your own.

I don't think they are still production. Beretta makes a quality .25 acp for under three hundred. You can also buy one about the same size in .32 acp. In plain blue its about $300. This is the Beretta Model 3032 Tomcat. I have one and the .25 acp Beretta holster works just fine. Nowadays $300 is inexpensive for a quality handgun!

ok when you are talking about crap guns, i would put bryco/jennings in the same category. if you wanted something that small, i would definately go with a taurs pt-25 or the beretta bobcat. i wouldnt want something that small personally, so i would go with a sub compact glock, or maybe the slim-line 36, in a .45 acp. if you want something smaller than a glock and bigger than a beretta or taurus, go for a kahr. theyre not as good as the glocks, but they are nice little guns.

Popular with hold up guys and you local drug runner......
No, they are out of businees. They are still out there, but like the others I would tell you stay away from them. Cheap, no waranty, and the .25ACP is a joke. Try instead a small Taurus, Kel Tec or Berreta.
