You sound as tho you have little girl like mine, Nothing girly about her at all. My babe will not wear a witch costume or devil she will always go against the grain and opt for the costume that is made for boys like the head to toe skeleton or vampire.....I think this shows your kids individuality and the fact that she doesnt want to be like every body else. I now love this about my kid and think its very brave as kids generally conform to stereotypes and do what the other kids are doing...I think you should encourage your kid to be herself and if she wants to be edward S then let her....Girl Power!!!

You have to admit thats very cute of her. But realisticly how will you dress her up like Edward Scissorhands? That would seem extremely difficult. Suggest another icon she likes that would make it easier and appropriate for the fancy dress party.

my advice is edward scissorhand doesnt go well with 4,5 n 6 year old. i think u should hide the dress and tell to ur daughter that she's way too preety to be dress up as him and edward think so too. use smart psychology i'm sure ur child will listen as long as u dont push but make her think that it is her idea. gud luck

try something different like a teacher or cupid for example. this might this may distract her fascination with Edward scissorhands. you can have a lot of fun with her making the costume, just make sure her arrows are duff ones if she goes as cupid!

Edward sissorhands? by traditional do you mean 18Th century ball gowns or a fairy or princess? this might give you some ideas.... http://www.abfab.co.uk/girls.asp or this maybe... http://www.islandentertainmentsonline.com/acatalog/girlsfancydresscostumes.html this might help you decide on a type of costume. both websites have add to basket options so if you would like to buy one of the costumes then you can do that as well

Try a pirate instead -that would be easier to create a costume for, and you can coax her into it by showing her Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean (which you can also watch and enjoy for slightly different reasons...) Fwoar me hearties!!!!

a fairy or a princess that's what lil' girls like or a cute lil dress will be enough or if they're tomboys, not implying ur daughter, maybe a cowboy suit yeah haha neutral...then just dress her up in jeans and...a shirt ?
edward scissorhands...i dunno hu is he and went to find his pic...it was...erm...maybe just dress her up in black clothes and find something spiky for her hair and nails lol...

i dont think they will know what scissorhands is unless they watched it on the television. i think they are too young to watch it.
