I can't think of hardly anything more painful. Put Ambesol or some other medicine on it to numb it temporarily. Take aspirin and get to the dentist immediately.

omg at first it is paaaaainful. I ended up at hospital on my bday with it. Now 9 mos later it doesn't hurt so bad but ruptures a little bit every other day. I've been to dentist several times but he never does anythign about it. I have other teeth that need pulled more than that one and it doesn' treally bother me.
Now that's me. Let me tell you about you. You need to go see a dentist while there is still time. Please dont' look at this and say oh well she has waited this long I can too. I am 26 yrs old and 2 steps away from dentures. For me there is not a big rush on this but you need to save your teeth while you still have them. You don't want to go thru the pain I went thru. Take some ex strength tylonal (or if you have extra vicodin or darvocet take one of those. NOTE: only take them if they are yours please. I'm not responsible for you thinking I said take some one elses I"m not. Take your own if you have them) the dr will give you an antibiotic most likely. Call dentist asap (preferrably before it ruptures)

An abscessed tooth is usually sensitive or painful. A periapically abscessed tooth generally requires either Root Canal Therapy or an Extraction. There are cases in which an antibiotic will also be prescribed. A lateral abscess condition requires periodontal (gum) treatment.

I had that b4. Very painful. All i can tell u is to go 2 the dentist & most likely you'll get an antibiotic (makes swellin' go down in 2 days) & that most likely you'll require a root canal. Hope u got the $ for it (or at least insurence like i did)

Go to the dentist and get some antibiotics. Until then, rinse your mouth with a solution of half peroxide and half warm water a few times a day.

i think you should see a dentist promptly, but until you do rinse out your mouth 6 times a day with warm water and salt.use pain killers but do see the doctor as soon as possible as he will do what is required to stop the pain.
