Depends sometimes on why their crying but usually just give them a shoulder to cry on and listen. Do not give advise, or how you have been in that situation just be there for them.

i tink the best way to help a person who's crying is to just shut up.

they wont feel like talking or if they are whining, they dun need u to say anything. i know most people tink the best thing to say is 'it's ok, everything will be alright' or 'it's ok, i'm here'. but when u tink about it again, it doesnt make any sense. it's not ok, that's why that person is crying in the first place right!

so for me, the best thing to do is to just shut up. n let the person cry her eyes out.

Comfort them depending on the situation. If some one has died, just hold them. If someone dumpped them, tell them that the other person was an idiot and that they dont deserve the person who is crying. Hold them! If it's because they fell and hurt themselves, try to relieve the pain and talk to them. Try to make them smile and feel better about themselves.

If there is a specific problem involving emotions, hold them, pray for them, and if needed seek help!

Just provide a safe place to cry. The tears will stop eventually and the person will probably feel a whole lot better after they've gotten the tears out of their system. Works for me.

Telling him/her that there are people who are in a worst situation than him and that tomorrow he's probably going to laugh about it.

Of course, unless it's something like death or something... then just let the person cry because it helps sometimes.

It depends a lot on the person. I like to get a hug when I'm crying.

Let them cry. Maybe put you arm around them. Or if you think they want to be alone, walk away. Sometimes you just have to cry to get the pain out.

Tears

Tears are delightful expressions
Of happiness, sorrow, and love,
Made to release deep emotions,
A special gift sent from above.

When seeing sweet thoughts of a loved one
Midst memories of days of old,
A tear finds a cheek in the moonlight
As thoughts reach deep in the soul.

In moments of anger, frustrations and grief,
When happy thoughts flee like a thief,
Running away with our hopes and our cares,
A tear brings welcome relief.

If unwanted sorrow consumes us
And life seems so hard to bear,
With time a soul is healed,
Restored with the help of a tear.

Sun and beauty bring health to the soul
Through all of the days of our lives,
Deepest feelings of thanks are expressed
Through tears which appear in our eyes.

Be grateful for tears for their presence
Restores our most glorious thoughts
Of laughter, compassion and loving,
The most precious gifts of all.
