1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.."
I am aq 30 year old male and I am always tempted by masturbation, lust and porn. For me at times it seems like an obsession and that there is no way out.
If God promises in the bible that He will provide a way out, what is the way? How come I can't seem to see light at the end of the tunnel?

The New Testament tells us that Jesus is the truth, the way and the light.
I used to drink and party alot. I just got tired of it and feeling crappy all the time and not remembering things.
I truly raised it all up and fully surrendered to God and cried aloud that I just can't do this anymore - I needed help - I needed someone to carry these burdens as they were just too heavy. I prayed until I just fell asleep on the floor.
Over time, I don't remember how much time, drinking and partying just were not appealing. Eventually, I just quit altogether. I never quit praying through any of this time. I don't drink anymore and have no desire to. I don't party anymore because it does not appeal to me. Why? Because God answered my prayer of despiration and need. I started meeting interesting people who didn't drink or party. I didn't even know those people existed. I started going to every denominiation of church until I found one that gave me what I needed -the Word of God explained. I started reading many versions of the Bible to get different interpretations. It's actually pretty good reading but I do sometimes not understand what is written. That's where fellowship comes in because there may be someone you know who does understand it.
If you truly want to stop an undesireable activity, you must surrender your body, heart and soul to God. Thank Him in advance for the healing. Believe in God that He will provide for your needs.
God promises he will meet all your needs if you surrender to Him. Don't just acknowledge Jesus, believe in Him. If you believe in Him and faith that He will rescue you, in time, you will see the light, that light is the light of God shining through Jesus.

Because just like w/ everything else, no one else can help you w/o you trying your best. They can't do it for you, but they can be there for you. What is the invaluable lesson learned if things are done for you? Temptations are things that lead you away from leading they "happy" life you really want, so you have to work for a good life, right? If you can restrain yourself (if it's something you really want to stop b/c you think it's sinful...I personally think you're the average 30 year old guy) I think god is saying "look to me instead and your temptations will be alleviated."
That's my guess...we are all free agents and i don't think god would just hand you an answer or take care of things for you. If he were like that, he would have just "scratched" the first adam and eve and just create a new, more perfect pair and we wouldn't be in this mess (of imperfection)!

When we repent, we turn way from our sins. It's not easy. I heard 2 weeks ago from a radio station about this subject. It was mainly for men. But it is easy for a man to get caught up with those temptations. Because we can not remove thoughts or visuals that have been placed in our heads.we need to replace our thoughts with the word of God. And make choices to not put our self in those situations. I think the book is "A Man Every Battle)

When I see no way out of a situation, a friend is likely to see it. That is a general comment that is not related to the question at hand. If you are stuck as you say, then a Christian counsellor can help you get out of this mess. At first, if I had this problem, I wouldn't want to be talking to friends about this.

Prayer. I find a regular dose of the Prayer of the Gospels...the Rosary; keeps things running smoothly.
Since this is a contemplative prayer, I would suggest something along those lines. If your mind and thoughts are occupied with contemplation of Christ, the Bible (something read) it leaves little room to think of or dwell on those other things. It doesn't hurt to pray for the Holy Spirit to come, as Jesus said, to be our comforter. He is also our teacher. He will show you things if you ask for it. Get a good translation of the Bible you will like to read and get in a little prayer time and everything will turn around.

The light is Jesus - Just look harder.
The way out could be 1 of a hundred ways.
Here is what helped me being a man in his 30's also
Keep your eyes from the lust - TV, magazines,
sex is around us everywhere - this is tough
Get an accountability partner to help when the times come. Have him ask you daily - are you living for God, keeping from sin?
Ask for stronger convictions from the holy spirit - this sins don't happen in 1 second, they take time. Time to reconsider what you are doing.

This week if you desire you will be free
One day this week you will fast all day and pray
But in your prayer thank Jesus for Knowing your heart
Thank him for let his will be done over your desire
Do this for three days in one week
It don't have to be back to back
In the day that you pray; You must pray seven times that day you fast
Avoid complaining about something thank him for everything
Remember Seven times a day three days a week.
when your body fight against you and order you to eat, You must drink hot tea Drink it untill you are full really full but it must be hot it will keep your belly at peace. (any tea will do but peppermint tea is the best for fasting as it help with the gas and stop the acid in the belly from thicking and bubbling)
Thank Jesus for controling your fingers and hands and wrists
Thank God for Controling your mind and leading you to a mind like christ.
You can do it I believe in you!
Ask God to do it for his glory this is the key

Last of all trash all the porn this is not number one on the list because Porn can not walk to you but you can walk to the porn
what good is trashing something you can buy more of?
But When the desire is gone it won't be hard not to resist
The bible say "resist the devil and he will flee!"
What you don't feed (meaning the desire to enage in what you long to flee) will die!
Faith without work is dead! Show God your faith by your works!

I've been asking God for a way out for years and have never seen it. I'm just as miserable today as I was yesterday and will be tomorrow.
But, why do you think masturbation is bad? It's about the only way you can assure safe sex.
And unless you are turning porn into a reality in your life by committing rape or molesting children or something,
what are you doing wrong?
Forgive yourself and keep doing what you're doing.
It makes you feel good and it's not hurting anyone as long as the above mentioned aren't involved.

in other words he will give u a direction 2 head in thats pleasing 2 him and it will keep u from committing that wrong deed before him,,,,but uuuuuu have to learn to make the right decisions and chioces...thats on u not him!!!!
